🎸 Pre-requisites? If you can already play songs on the guitar and you're excited to make the transformation to a music creator - you have everything it takes to start.

Some of the benefits of creating your own original music:

Turn your life journey into "listenable art pieces" - songs.

Writing songs gets you deep into the art & craft of music

Songs that you can also share with others, and listen to years from now. You'll develop a collection of creations that would become better and better over time, as you improve.

Lyrics, melodies, hooks, rhythms, etc... And when you experience these things from the perspective of the creator - your music-listening experience also becomes profoundly richer.

🔷 When you start creating your own songs instead of playing covers, the following intuitions that I have heard about it from so many - is that "the covers phase was just a preparation for the real thing" - for creating original art. The art that we all have inside of us. A creation that re-ignites the passion for music.

👂 Writing songs dramatically develops your ears and your comprehension of music and music theory. Because now you have "skin in the game", and you find yourself approaching a blank canvas with the tools at your disposal - your instrument, your heart, and your ears.

💝 I still haven't found a better feeling in music than sitting one on one on a sofa with a close friend or a loved one, and playing them a song of yours. Heart to heart, eye to eye. "It's your soul floating out to theirs", as Tom Petty said.

The problem with songwriting

If you're like me, you might have had a feeling for a long time that "there's a lot more to my guitar than just re-hashing the same covers and chord progressions over and over".

That you can make something new with it.

Maybe you too, for years, wanted to be able to write your own songs, for your own enjoyment and curiosity.

Then, when you made a move, you might have watched different YT videos, read some blog posts or even bought a few books, but nothing really managed to stick, and pretty much no songs were written.

The desire was left unanswered.

The problem with songwriting is that it's an elusive thing. It's difficult to describe how to get to that state where "songs come to you", and how to stay there and keep writing.

I was there too, for years, wanting to write songs, develop a collection of different songs from different kinds, and have my "legacy". But the years passed, and it seemed like I only managed to somehow write a song every once in a blue moon.

When I did do it, it felt absolutely amazing - the best feelings I ever felt with music - but how can you "align the stars" and make it happen much more often? What makes a song "good"? And what are the "secrets" for creating lyrics, progressions, and melodies that can give people "the feels"?

So I finally decided to set out and crack the code.

I wanted to realise how to consistently write the best songs that I can, and I wanted to turn songwriting into a skill that's available for a wider audience, not just for gifted celebrities.

If that's something that you want to do - you get it! There's no reason to be left outside of the most satisfying avenue of music-making.

So after 10 years of writing songs, I decided to hone in on it single-mindedly, and I embarked on a journey that took me 14 months of full-time work, wrote 100's of songs, and learned from countless resources.

Then, in late 2021, I came out on the other side with the Songwriting Inspirations course, which so far helped 900+ people just like you to reach this dream of creating their own music, consistently.

Let's start your journey.

Don't rely on luck, rely on a step-by-step workflow.

For most people who aren't professional songwriters - writing a song is a matter of "getting lucky" with inspiration every once in a long while.

It might be familiar to you if you do have some experience with songwriting - where sometimes many months go by, and this side of yours, perhaps the most exciting side of your music life, is left untapped.

This course will help you eliminate the "luck factor", give you a reliable writing workflow, and allow you to regularly write songs by enjoying the inspiration that is around you all the time.

A workflow that helped me go from being a frustrated guitarist who really wants to write songs - to a prolific artist who releases a new song to Spotify almost every month.

The solution: a look inside the Songwriting Inspirations course

I believe the process should all be about having fun and enjoying your transformation into a creator.

You'll learn how to turn songwriting into a healthy habit that comes easily - your favorite "me time" - even if you are a very busy person.

- 14 chapters, 35+ videos. The learning on the course is interactive and divided into chapters, with enjoyable creative activities that help you ingrain the materials while writing songs yourself.

- We will be learning with 100's of diverse examples from the most popular songs of all time, all the way from Elvis / Bob Dylan / Beatles classics from the 50's-60's to Taylor Swift / Ed Sheeran / Harry Styles songs from these days.

"Hi Alon,

Thanks for the Word file! And for your quick response.

I started to write a new song along the lines of your process, and that teaches me something about the importance of having such a process (or rather: more than one).

I've been writing songs as a hobby for a little under 2 years now and have close to 100 more or less finished songs (lyrics, melody and chords) in Dutch and about 40 in English.

(It's funny how most of my Dutch songs are comedy and most of the English ones are more serious / emotional)

I like your course because it gives me alternative processes for starting a new song (lyrics / melody / chords / rhythm first) and because of the structured ways you explain the different processes after that initial step.

I've found that my trouble with recording, mixing etc. is partly caused by the one process I've used so far (lyrics - melody - chords - recording (or not). I need to think of aspects for the finished arrangement while I am writing the lyrics or the difference between the A, B and C-parts tends to be too small (in the sense of rhyme schemes, short/long sentences and notes etc.).

The bits of music theory are nice too: very practical, not too theoretical.

Thanks again,

Koen"

🌊 I have been writing songs for the last 11 years, since I had the dream of becoming a "real musician" and having my own collection of songs that would touch and groove people.

This course contains a deep, practical look into 18 possible techniques that you can use to make your guitar sing differently with each song that you play.

And avoid falling into the rut of writing songs that all sound very similar.

The course also contains a 107 pages book with more references, explanations and examples for each of the techniques. (It took me three weeks of full time work to write this book - in order for you to have an encyclopedia of guitar techniques at your fingertips)

Full 3 hours course: QUICKLY Become a Jazz Chords Master (Value: $97)

Even if you were never into jazz - this course lets you add loads of colors to your songs (no matter the genre / style!) with 21 of the sexiest chord shapes available on the guitar.

You will be learning them with surprising ease using a few simple exercises that drill these seemingly hard chord shapes into your muscle memory.

Before you'll know it, you'll be playing chord shapes up the neck that you thought were impossible, and be filled with new songwriting inspirations.

Full 3 hours course:🥁 Develop a Rock-Solid Sense of Rhythm & Groove 🥁

(Value: $97)

A solid rhythm is the foundation of everything that you play - so this course will be the single biggest improvement to the bottom line of your musicianship: how "steady" (and groovy!) you sound, and how pleasant it is to listen to you.

🥁 Play everything a lot more steadily, and feel the rhythm in your body.

🥁 Add a strong sense of GROOVE to your playing - the element that makes you and your listeners want to move with the music, and FEEL it in your bodies.

🥁 Ever felt rhythmically disconnected when you played with other musicians? You would now get the tools and the competence to feel "locked-in" with others, and enjoy jamming like never before.

FAQ

WORK BY PROBLEMS: ("turn problems into solutions" Mozi

problem 1 - I don't have time

P2 - I've tried before and it didn't work

P3 - who are you to teach me that?

P3 - do I have direct access to you? Yes! On all levels of programs I would be happily to answer your questions deeply and with all my heart. You can contact me directly through my email and also on my personal whatsapp.

P4 I can't afford (payment plans! / "if you're from a country such as India please contact me as I have different pricing points)

Yes, this is expensive. And we hope so! Because we offer the absolute best [solution] to [their problem]. We decided not to compete on price because we’d rather compete on being the best and offering the best. And from what it sounds like, you’ve already tried the cheap route and it brought you in today, right? So if this program does what we say it does, and you do your part, and we get you [X results in X amount of time], wouldn’t you be suspicious if it were cheaper?”

P5 #2: “I need to think about it” or “I have to ask my [spouse, partner, business partner, etc.]”

P6 "I'm not sure" - that means they don't trust me enough yet, and that can be met with more solid and raving testimonials. (the exact reason why I didn't buy from Seth)

Check out Kathryn's Q&A

You said "one month" on your guarantee, but how long do I need to spend each day?

You said "4 weeks to become a fruitful & confident songwriter", but how much time do I need to spend each day during these 4 weeks?? Up to you. I know that we are all busy. If you go through the course content and activities every day for 30-60 minutes, you will finish it within around 2 weeks. But I designed the course to feel fun, not to feel rushed, and so that you can do it in a more spacious way. So you never need to spend more than an hour, on some days feel free to do nothing if you don't feel like it, and some days even 5 minutes will do to stay in the rhythm. It's up to you, the point is to "stay in motion" and enjoy the process - otherwise it won't stick.

Is it lifetime access to alll these courses?

What is the difference between this course and the previous one?

Why did you create a new course? "unfortunately, the average online course completion rate is only 11% (link). Even though the completion rate of the SI inspiration course was 2X higher than that, the one thing that people kept saying is that they need help implementing it. Otherwise it does not happen.

In the FAQ also give them my email address and a calendly.

What time will the live sessions be?

Will there be a recording of the live sessions?

What if I don't like it (refund question)

Still not sure? I'd love to answer your questions over email or phone, write to me and I'll send you my Calendar link to find a time over the weekend.
